Junior Olympic Sailing Festival

There is no feeling on earth that can match the smell of the the sea combined with the warmth of the sun and the cool ocean breeze wafting over your cheek. This weekend our young sailors felt the warmth of this godly sensation combined with the sweet taste of victory at the annual Junior olympics fundraiser regatta graciously hosted by California Yacht club. This event despite its ominous title is an event dedicated purely to sportsmanship, the United States Olympic sailing team, and most importantly the fine sport of Sailing. SBYSF was represented by five young men all hoping to bring home the precious medals and enjoy a weekend of comradeship and sailing. Our young men represented Santa Barbara nobbaly in the CFJ and Laser Radial classes. In both classes these young men put up a great fight and were fine compeditors. In the laser Radial class our very own Lucas Pierce made the Dons proud by bringing home the Silver medal. The silver was also achieved by the our representitives in the CFJ class, Christopher Kayda and Jack Kamps. We as a team are rejoicing in this victory and the high school program is relying to create a great team for the school year and continue to represent our community in the great sport of sailing.
